Shorebird Conservation on the Sunshine Coast
Did you know some of Noosa’s most incredible shorebirds fly thousands of kilometres each year—just to spend summer on our beaches? Join the Noosa Parks Association for their next Friday Forum, where guest speaker Simone Bosshard will share fascinating insights into the lives of migratory and resident shorebirds on the Sunshine Coast.
As the Coastal Conservation and Planning Team Leader for Sunshine Coast Council, Simone brings a wealth of experience from both academic and hands-on conservation work, including time spent protecting marine turtles and leading local environmental projects. In this engaging session, she’ll highlight the amazing global journeys of shorebirds, the challenges they face across continents, and how local communities can help protect them.
Start your day with early morning birdwatching at 8:30am, followed by morning tea at 10:00am. The forum begins at 10:30am at the Environment Centre in Noosaville.
This is a must-attend event for nature lovers, bird enthusiasts, and anyone curious about how to protect our feathered friends. Add it to your calendar today!
