Searching for Herring Volunteer Info Night
With Marine Stewardship Initiative
Herring are the heartbeat of our coastal ecosystem, and you can help protect them! Join the Marine Stewardship Initiative for the Searching for Slhawt' / Herring Volunteer Info Night and learn how to get involved in this important citizen science project.
Volunteers will help monitor herring spawn in the Squamish Estuary from mid-February to April. No experience is necessary—MSI will provide all the training you need.
If you can walk or paddle around an assigned site, survey 1-2 times a week, and submit data electronically, you can make a real impact! Come find out more and sign up to be part of this exciting conservation effort.
