“Visit the Estuary’s hidden places, through all seasons, tides, and weather. Learn to identify birds by sight and sound. No experience necessary!” - Nature Squamish
Step into the heart of the Squamish Estuary and discover a world of birds! Nature Squamish invites you to take part in the Monthly Estuary Bird Count—an exciting opportunity to explore hidden corners of this biodiverse region, spot seasonal bird species, and contribute to long-term conservation efforts. The Squamish Estuary is home to over 235 bird species, offering prime nesting sites and feeding grounds. Whether you're an avid birder or a beginner, this event is open to all! Count leaders will guide participants through forest, sloughs, meadows, and tidal flats, tallying observations along the way.
Location: Squamish Estuary. Meet at Howe Sound Inn/Brew Pub, 37801 Cleveland Ave, Squamish, BC
Time: Meet at 8:00AM PST. The count lasts 4-6 hours, with a mix of walking and driving.
