Indigenous Embroidery and Basketry

With Rising Tide Squamish

“Join us for an afternoon of learning, sharing, embroidery and weaving!

This special event highlights the artistry and stories of:

✨Lubna Samman, a Palestinian Tatreez embroidery artist, presenting her craft and leading a hands-on mini workshop.

✨Mekisiso from the Lil’wat Nation, sharing insights into traditional basket weaving.

Together, we’ll explore how Indigenous Palestinian embroidery and Lil’wat weaving practices reflect cultural significance and resilience in their communities.”
