Exploring Connections: Wildlife, Landscapes, and Geology

With Nature Alberta

“Join us for an informative and engaging event to investigate the close relationship between wildlife, landscape, and geology as Dale Leckie interweaves science with spectacular photos and beautiful art to take you to the most interesting places in Alberta.

From the Rocky Mountains to the rain shadow of the prairies, from deeply entrenched rivers having prairie oases, and glaciated terrain, geology has a strong impact on wildlife distribution. The relationship between wildlife and landscape is explored and exemplified in the lives of golden eagles over the Rockies, the American pika and eroding mountains, of burrowing owls on glaciated plains, and greater short-horned lizards surviving in badlands and a vast rain shadow. Dale interweaves science with spectacular photos and beautiful art to take you to the most interesting places in Alberta.”
